The Auburn School (“Auburn”) announced its move to a new location for the new school year to accommodate its growing student community. Auburn serves students with challenges in social skills, communication, pragmatic language and organization, such as Asperger’s syndrome. Auburn’s staff and board of advisors include distinguished national, state and local education leaders and professionals. Auburn’s Fairfax Campus opened in Herndon in 2009 with 14 students and currently is serving 36. The new facility is still located in Fairfax, just off of Route 50 and 28, near the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum. It will provide the school community with an ideal state of the art facility that will allow for growth. The new space is being fully renovated to meet the needs of Auburn. In addition to the 15,000 square feet of classroom space, the new facility will include a gym, playground, science and theatre labs.

The Auburn School (“Auburn”) announced its move to a new location just in time for the new school year to accommodate its growing student community. Auburn serves students with challenges in social skills, communication, pragmatic language and organization, such as Asperger’s syndrome. Auburn’s staff and board of advisors include distinguished national, state and local education leaders and professionals. Auburn’s Baltimore Campus opened in 2011 with 10 students and currently is serving 34. The new facility is located on the site of Baltimore Hebrew Congregation (“BHC”) and provides the school community with an ideal facility that will allow for growth. The new space has been renovated to meet the needs of Auburn. In addition to the 8,000 square feet of classroom space, the new facility includes a gym, playing fields, playground, science lab and music room.

BALTIMORE, MD, September 7, 2011 - The Auburn School (Auburn) will celebrate the grand opening of its Baltimore Campus on Monday, September 12, 2011, welcoming 9 young students. The students, ranging from Kindergarten to 7th grade, will be taught this year by a group of enthusiastic and highly qualified teachers and specialists, who have been preparing for their arrival for the past few weeks.

WASHINGTON, DC, April 6, 2010 – Today, Capital Schools, Inc. announced it had been honored by Venture Capital Journal as one of the nation’s Top 20 Most Promising Startups. Capital Schools was the only Washington, DC area company to make the list, ranking 14th overall. While most of the companies represented were Silicon Valley technology companies, Capital Schools was selected for its unique focus on schools and educational programs for students with autism. The company’s mission is to create national model schools and educational programs for children with autism spectrum disorder and other specialized learning needs. Its first school, The Auburn School, opened last fall in Herndon, VA. New campuses are planned for Montgomery County and Baltimore, MD. The company’s long-term plans include national replication.
